Councillor Laing is now serving his second term on Council. He is on Council because he believes Battleford is the best place to raise his family which includes his wife and two daughters. Councillor Laing is a big booster of the province and brings his observations of other municipalities best practices to the Council table ensuring the Town is progressive and has healthy and constructive relations with neighbours and partners.
Having other families move to the Battlefords is one of Councillor Laing’s goals. Part of what makes Battleford great, for Councillor Laing, is his ability to play hockey, and experience the outdoors through hunting and fishing. To help ensure families move to Battleford Councillor Laing has served on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, the Battleford Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Battlefords River Valley Committee, the Fire Department, and the Opera House Committee.
