High Flow Levels on North Sask River System Update

With the recent high flows on the North Saskatchewan River, the Town of Battleford is asking all residents and visitors to use extra caution. Due to rising water levels and fast currents, portions of the trail systems on Finlayson Island and nearby riverbanks are currently flooded, unstable, or inaccessible.

To keep yourself, your family, and your pets safe, please follow these guidelines:

• Avoid Finlayson Island Trails: Do not attempt to cross flooded pathways of the island.

• Keep Your Distance: Stay well back from the riverbanks, as rapid currents can cause sudden and dangerous shoreline erosion.

• Keep Pets on a Leash: Ensure pets are kept secure and far away from the water's edge.

• Pause Water Recreation: Avoid boating, or paddling until conditions normalize.

Water levels can fluctuate quickly. We encourage everyone to monitor real-time conditions directly through the provincial authorities before heading out.
