Councillor Mark Coleman

Councillor Mark Coleman is serving his first term on Battleford's Town Council.  He has been a resident of Battleford since 2015. 
Councillor Coleman is a teacher at Battleford Central School, hockey coach, baseball coach and father of two boys.  He has an
Advanced Bachelor's Degree in Education from Nipissing University and Honours of Contemporary Studies with a Major in History
and Minor in Organizational Leadership from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University.  His wife Jessica is also an active member of the community
as a teacher at North Battleford Comprehensive High School, soccer coach and ice hockey referee.
 
Councillor Coleman's goal is to ensure the viability of Battleford well into the future.  He is dedicated to encouraging businesses to
set up shop in Battleford but also maintaining the small town environment that everyone knows and loves.  In addition to keeping
Battleford affordable for its residents, continuing with the expansion of recreation opportunities, and enhancing the beautification
walkability of the town.
 
Councillor Mark Coleman serves on both the Lakeland Library Board and the Table Mountain Regional Park Board.  In these roles, he supports local learning opportunities and works to enhance recreational spaces for residents and visitors alike.
 
Outside of work Councillor Coleman enjoys: spending time with his family, baseball, hockey, reading and travelling.
