The Town of Battleford is committed to providing safe, reliable water and wastewater services to our community.  Our water is tested approximately 100 times per month to ensure it meets the highest safety standards, with our wastewater effluent monitored weekly. 

 

 


Billing Schedule & Dates

  • Frequency: Utility bills are issued monthly.
  • Mailing: Expect your bill in the mail or emailed during the first week of each month.
  • Due Date: Payment is due by the last business day of the month.
  • Late Payments: A 2.5% penalty is applied starting the following month.

Important: Past Due Accounts
To avoid service interruption, please ensure your account is kept current.
Reminder Notice: If a balance remains unpaid, a doorknob reminder will be delivered approximately one week before a scheduled disconnection.
Disconnection Date: Service is subject to disconnection of the 20th Day of the month following your due date.
Reconnection Fees: If service is disconnected for non-payment, full payment of arrears plus a reconnection fee is required:
                                   $150 during regular business hours.
                                   $250 after hours or on weekends.

 

2026 Utility Rates

As of February 2026, the Town of Battleford has eliminated the minimum usage charge.  Residents now pay only for the water they consume.

Monthly Consumption Rates (Current 2026)

Water $2.80 / m3     $1.80 / m3
Sewer $1.70 / m3     $0.70 / m3

Monthly Fixed Fees

Every active account includes these two standard monthly fees:

  • Lagoon Repayment Fee: $10.00
  • Infrastructure Fee: (Based on your meter size)
    • Most Residential (Under 1"): $20.00
    • Commercial/Large (1" to 1.5"): $25.00
    • Industrial (2" and Larger)" $32.00

 

Looking Ahead: 2027 & 2028 Rates

To help residents plan for the future, the Town has established a multi-year rate schedule.

  • 2027: Rates increase by $0.10/m3 for both Water and Sewer.
  • 2028: Rates increase by an additional $0.10/m3 for both Water and Sewer.
