How the "Smart" Technology Works (R900)

Both meters are equipped with an R900 radio transmitter.

• No more manual reads: The transmitter send your meter reading via encrypted radio signal to a receiver used by town staff as they drive by.
• Privacy: The signal only contains your meter ID and the reading--no personal information is ever transmitted over the air.
• 15-Minute Data: The system tracks usage in 15-minute intervals.  This helps the Town see exactly when water is being used.
• Leak Alerts: The R900 monitors for continuous flow and flags potential leaks to help you save money.
