Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Battleford intends to consider adopting Bylaw No.10-2026 under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Zoning Bylaw No. 7-2016.

The intent of Bylaw No. 10-2026 is to:

  • Introduce Equestrian Facilities as a Discretionary Use within the M – Industrial District, along with specific definitions, development standards, special regulations, and evaluation criteria.

  • Permit Agricultural Uses (including crop farming, grazing, and pasturage, but excluding intensive livestock or poultry operations) within the C2 – Highway Commercial District and M – Industrial District.

Affected Lands

All lands zone within the C2-Highway Commercial District and M - Industrial District will be affected by this amendment.

Reason for the Amendment:

  • Agricultural Land Use: To allow existing lease lands used for grazing, pasturage, and crop farming in the C2 and M districts to acquire proper land-use permits.

  • Equestrian Facilities: To establish a clear regulatory framework (definition, standards, and discretionary evaluation criteria) for proposed Equestrian Facilities within the Industrial District. This ensures Council oversight to prevent land-use conflicts with surrounding properties.
