Public Notice: 22nd Street West Sidewalk Replacement

The Town of Battleford has approved a sidewalk replacement project along 22nd Street West for the upcoming construction season as part of our ongoing commitment to municipal infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and accessibility.

Sidewalk Project Start Date: Monday, August 10, 2026

Location: South Side of 22nd Street West (Between 2nd Avenue & 3rd Avenue)

Project Scope

The project involves removing and replacing approximately 250 linear metres of existing sidewalk. Work includes:

  • Base and subgrade improvements to extend the service life of the new sidewalk.

  • Building transitions and downspout extensions where required to accommodate existing properties and proper drainage.

Impact & What to Expect

Residents, businesses, and motorists in the area should anticipate:

  • Property Access: Temporary restrictions to pedestrian access, parking, driveways, and building entrances while crews work directly adjacent to properties.

  • Site Conditions: Expect construction noise, dust, vibration, and increased equipment traffic.

  • Safety: Portions of the sidewalk will be closed. Please obey all barricades, posted detour signs, and directions from construction personnel.

Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and maintain access wherever feasible.

Timelines

Construction start date is scheduled for August 10. Schedules remain subject to change due to weather and site conditions.
