About the Citizen of the Month
Our community benefits from the extraordinary efforts of many caring and involved residents. These individuals/businesses contribute to the TOB community by donating their time and energy to ensure TOB remains a secure, clean community. Assisting someone in need, or in any way improve the quality of life reminding us that we all have unique opportunities to positively influence the world.
It is the desire and intent of the Town of Battleford to publicly recognize these outstanding citizens with a Citizen of the Month Award to be presented in the TOB Monthly Newsletter.
Eligibility
For a nominee to be eligible for a Citizen of the Month award, the following criteria must be met:
- The nominee must be proven to be a current resident of the Town of Battleford.
- The sponsor, who is the person nominating the nominee, must provide a justification that demonstrates that the nominee has a history of exemplary citizenship and contribution to the betterment of Battleford's community.
- Only individuals are eligible to be nominated (including youth, seniors, volunteers, and more).
- The nominee must have given personal resources, such as time, money, or non-monetary aid that's resulted in observable improvements and/or contributions to Battleford's community.
The following individuals are not considered to be eligible for a Citizen of the Month award.
- Current elected officials.
- Past elected officials within one year of their last term as an elected official.
- Town of Battleford employees.
- Paid contractors.
Selection Process
Recipients of the award are determined by the Battlefords & District Parks and Recreation Board.
Winner Recognition
Winners will be notified via email and phone and formally acknowledged with a certificate, and presented in the Town of Battleford monthly newsletter.
