I was born and raised in Battleford and have three grown children and two grandchildren. One lives in Calgary, one overseas playing hockey and one living in North Battleford. This is my second term on Council, a role I do not take lightly and am honored to have been elected. I am an active member of the community, currently serving on the Battlefords Parks & Recreation Board, the Library Boards and the Battleford Community Spirit Group. As my children were growing up, I was very active with Battlefords Minor Hockey Association (BMHA), Battlefords Community Youth Club (BCYC) coaching ball and the Battlefords North Stars. I was a member of Fred Light Museum Board in my first term, a role that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I'm a long-term employee for an industry-leading communications company where I am a member of various workplace committees. I have a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan with additional training in budgeting, negotiating, human resources, bargaining, labour relations and project management. I'm also a member of the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board.
My vision of Battleford is keeping Battleford an affordable place to live while continuing to be progressive. Ensuring infrastructure keeps up with growth and that the current services provided to residents and business' are not lost as we move forward. Being fiscally responsible and transparent are priorities of mine. We have a rich history in Battleford, we need to continue to create new ways of promoting the community as a tourist destination. Keeping youth and seniors active, safe and involved in the community is something I strive for. Together we can continue to make Battleford a great place to live, work, invest and own a business. It is my goal to take responsibility, speak up, ask questions and provide my experience and knowledge to keep the Town progressing forward.
My special interests are watching all sports, travelling, the odd round of golf, spending time with family and friends as well as camping.
